Research has revealed that a Low GI diet can reduce blood sugar levels. This is important in reducing the risk of developing long term diabetes-related complications.
A diet that incorporates low GI foods (and that is also low in saturated fat and high in dietary fiber) can be helpful in reduction of the risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes and coronary heart disease.
